I was impressed with the whole interaction from start to finish! I think it’s amazing that you travel and I’m so thankful that you were able to travel so far to me! I think it’s great you do it as a family and y'all are so great with animals! Even though Houston was dramatic he did so much better with you than he does at the vet, I could tell he could sense your kindness and patience! Thank you so much again!!
Jillian C., Lancaster PA
" I hurt my leg last year and being that my youth is fading, I gave up on routinely keeping up on my task of hoof trimming. It's just something I never really enjoyed doing. It is time consuming , dirty and hard work with so many. I heard about Homestead Helpers from a fellow farmer and it really changed my life! I know my guys are taken care of now! I love that I can get on a schedule to have you automatically stop back too! Thank you again! Tom G, Nippenose Valley PA
"So friendly with good communication and easy to schedule given the circumstances of me not being on location and still making things work out to get my impulsive auction purchases' overgrown hoofies lookin like new again. I had no intention of ever owning goats or sheep so I'm new (only owned these 2 for about a year) to their care and she was informative and really helped us out getting their long toes under control. 10/10. "
Elisia Markey , Maryland
" This is great!
I was going to try this myself but seeing how much more involved it really is... I'm really glad I called you!"
Sam, Laurelton PA
Tammy and her daughters did an amazing job on our goat hooves. What normally takes my husband and I almost 4 hours (for 6 goats), only took them about an hour! Scheduling is a breeze, they are all friendly and professional, and very prompt with timing and explaining hoof care and any issues with your animals. They are also extremely gentle and patient! If you want to make your life a little easier and want to save LOTS of time, give Homestead Helpers a call, you won't be disappointed!
Janet H, Hunlock Creek PA
" We love that this service is available to small farmers like us! We give them lots of credit being family operated, that's pretty rare these days, they are good people. We trust them with my furry babies" !
Ruth & Bill Johnson , Perry County PA
We are not cattle or horse farriers, we specialize in small ruminant farrier service. There IS a huge difference between how horse and cattle farriers trim a horse or cow hoof and how a goat and sheep hoof are correctly trimmed for a balanced, comfortable foot!
Enhancing your animals health doesn't need to be rushed or rough... we work with all ages and stages.
Don't make the mistake of "calling the old time horse farrier down the road" or " some guy" who may leave you with a lame or fearful animal. Our small ruminant farrier service is the answer to the overgrown, dirty, unbalanced foundation of your goats and sheep.
We are your partner in animal care and want to empower you as a herd owner!

The Farm Visit Fee is just like what you would be charged for a visit from a traveling veterinarian. Farm Visits in the mobile service world are generally when a mobile service travels to a farm to examine and service livestock, essentially covering the cost of travel time and the on-farm consultation, separate from any individual animal treatment costs that may be incurred during the visit.
We have seen all kinds of animals, big , small, happy, not so happy, animals in pain... etc. If your animal is a danger to you, has harmed or injured someone in the past or can not be handled. We highly suggest you seek veterinary care.
If your animal is ill, can not tolerate trimming service or there is a ailment discovered during trimming service we recommend you seek veterinary care.
No, we do not work solo. For the safety and effectiveness of our team and services we always work in a pair, sometimes a trio. This is to ensure a sturdy, safe and comfortable experience for your animal and us. Our team members are knowledgeable with animals, animal behavior and are our second set of eyes on the animal while we provide service.
Yes! We understand that you care for your animals yet still want to be able to put food on your own table! We offer discounts for larger herds. Discounts after 6 animals are tiered based on the amount of animals you have in your herd needing service. We are happy to work up a quote for you!
We do not judge. Our goals are the same... to provide comfort, herd health and confidence to your animals! We are more than happy to assess your individual situation and go from there!
