"Healthy hooves are the foundation of a happy pig. Regular trims prevent pain, improve mobility, and ensure your pig can live comfortably, thrive, and enjoy life to the fullest."
Trimming pig hooves is a painless process when done correctly because the hoof is made of keratin, similar to human nails. The outer portion of the hoof is non-living tissue, so trimming this area doesn’t cause discomfort. We bring the correct tools and knowledge to carefully avoid the sensitive inner structures, ensuring your pig stays comfortable throughout the process. Regular hoof care also prevents painful overgrowth, cracks, or infections, keeping your pig healthy and happy.
Many pigs may act VERY dramatic, as many are not used to handling by humans. They are VERY smart and try to scare us off by yelling. This is often short lived. Many pigs eventually relax and enjoy their pedicure often falling asleep!

At Homestead Helpers PA - Your Partner in Goat, Sheep & Mini Pig Hoof Care, our vision is to be the leading agricultural solutions provider in the region. We are committed to delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions to help our clients succeed.
Available Appointments are First Come First Serve.
To Confirm your Appointment Step ONE and Step TWO must be completed.
DO NOT ALLOW YOUR PIG TO EAT ANYTHING (hay, grass, food, treats,ANYTHING) 3 hours PRIOR to our visit! This is to prevent possible aspiration and possible choking and death. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
If your animal has eaten ANYTHING within that 3 hour period we must reschedule the appointment. It is extremely unsafe for pigs who have just eaten any pit of food to be flipped for hoof trimming.
We stand firm on this policy. Remember any Farm Visit or payments are non refundable.
If I have traveled to your location and discover that your animal has eaten , I will charge you the entire visit. This precaution I take VERY seriously.
Being vigilant and following these simple steps ensures a SAFE and effective visit for all.
" This is great!
I was going to try this myself but seeing how much more involved it really is... I'm really glad I called you!"
Sam, Laurelton
"My pig has never had his nails trimmed before, I was nervous. Probably more nervous than the pig! But Tammy was able to get the job done with little fuss. He walks so much better now. I would certainly recommend any pig parent who wants to get their pigs nails trimmed to call Homestead Helpers! Thank you again"
Edna A. Lehigh Valley PA
